120 MILE RUN

120 miles for treyden

WESTON – Some people run marathons to challenge themselves, but one women from Wausau decided to do something above and beyond. Over the course of 36 hours Barb Klinner ran 120 miles to raise money for Treyden’s Cabin, an oncology pediatric waiting room at the Marshfield Clinic.

I had the opportunity to work with my colleague, Lex Gray, who ran alongside Barb for 60 of the 120 miles while I documented the story. Barb started her journey at 5 a.m. Saturday morning and ran straight through until she finished late Sunday afternoon.

Barb ran on the Mountain Bay Trail from Weston to Zachow until she turned around and headed back. Over the course of the weekend Barb was joined by her family, friends and complete strangers who accompanied her during the run. We did live hits throughout the weekend to update viewers on Barb’s progress. We use a LIVE U backpack to go live from any location utilizing cell phone towers. Overall the weekend was truly inspiring and I’m grateful to have had the chance to cover the event.
