DESIGN FOR JOURNALISTS

Finally! It feels good to be taking another journalism class here at Temple. Last semester I didn’t have any room in my schedule for any electives related to my major. However this semester I’m enrolled in a class called, “Design for Journalists” and it revolves specifically around every element of design including, layout, typography, and photography. The image above was a recent project we had to complete for the class. The point of the assignment was to create a photo collage using our own photos.  I decided it might be cool to create a fake bulletin board in Photoshop and “embed” my photos through different objects like the Polaroid pictures, Hollister advertisement, calendar, and the sketch tree drawing. Our next assignment is to create a mock infographic.
